Boots’ drive to attract cash-strapped customers with a range of price-cutting options has intensified with the health & beauty retailer saying Monday it wants to make this Christmas its “most affordable ever”.

Over 50% of this year’s gifting range – which is over 700 products – is priced at £10 or under and over 70% is priced at £15 or under.

In addition, Boots said its Star Gift programme is bigger than ever before with better-than-half-price savings on bestselling brands. A 3-for-2 gifting promotion also returns this year and includes over 1,000 lines.

As shoppers are expected to spend less due to the cost-of-living crisis with two thirds of consumers looking to cut costs on Christmas gifting this year, Boots has been on a drive to offer deals and cut-price beauty ranges.

In September, it said it was launching a major budget range of ‘everyday’ brand products, costing £1.50 or less. It also introduced its biggest ever Price Advantage offer, giving Boots Advantage Card holders exclusive discounts on up to 900 products each month.

In June, the retailer also announced it was freezing prices on more than 1,500 products in the face of higher costs. It has introduced locked-in prices on popular essential items under the Boots own-label lines until at least the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Boots has also listed the gift products expected to sell fast this year. The list includes Radley London On The Move Beauty Bag; Ted Baker Bath & Body Due men’s gift set; Boss Bottled Parfum; Prada Paradoxe Eau de Parfum; Elemis Superfood Skincare; Kylie Cosmetics by Kylie Jenner Reindeer Collection Palette; 17 Lip Envy Red Lip; and No7 Five Steps to Radiant Skin Gift Set.
