The Body Shop has named an executive from Estée Lauder — Maddie Smith — as its UK and Ireland chief, as well as boosting its leadership team further with a new executive role for current UK/Ireland MD Linda Campbell.

Retail Week reported that Campbell will become global retail director, a brand new board-level role at the beauty products retailer, after having been in charge of the UK business for five years.

Smith, who’s currently Estée Lauder’s retail VP for North America, will take the helm at The Body Shop after being at Lauder since 2019. She’s also held senior posts at L’Occitane, AS Watson (the owner of Superdrug) and Boots in a career spanning 25 years.

Meanwhile, her predecessor Campbell will drive the international expansion of the retailer’s Activist Workshop store format as well as continuing the rollout of the refill stations it has been creating in UK stores since 2019 across its network.

Both the executives will report to The Body Shop’s CEO David Boynton.
