British brand Beulah wins funding and plans US expansion

Kensington-based ethical fashion brand Beulah has secured £500,000 from venture capital firm Mustard Seed to fund its expansion into the US and other countries.
According to the Telegraph, the founders of the label, Natasha Rufus Isaacs and Lavinia Brennan, also plan to grow the brand’s product ranges and strengthen the online sales platform.

The quintessentially British luxury label was born in 2010 with the aim of being a brand with social conscience. Beulah provides employment for trafficked and vulnerable women, and runs charity activities to support victims of trafficking through the Beulah Trust.

In five years, the company has been recognized by its ethical values and secured a loyal celebrity following, counting the Duchess of Cambridge, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jessica Alba as its clients.

It focuses primarily on elegant occasion and day to evening wear which features bespoke prints and fine silks from the highest quality mills across Europe.

The company launched its first physical store in London’s Ebury Street last year.
