Following the announcement of the cancellation of the Bread & Butter trade show on Tuesday, the head of Pitti Uomo, Raffaello Napoleone, believes the cancellation will "reshape the landscape of men’s fashion trade shows."
From 19 to 21 January, three textile and sourcing trade fairs will join forces to establish themselves as a key event in the sector: Texworld USA, the Kingpins denim event and the fair dedicated to menswear, MRket.
Bread&Butter will indeed take place in January. Karl-Heinz Müller, via German newspaper Textilwirtschaft, has refuted all cancellation rumours and admits that the event will only take up one hall in the Tempelhof airport.
After the project launched with Japanese department store Isetan, the benchmark trade show for menswear is preparing to collaborate with American luxury department store Saks Fifth Avenue to promote Made in Italy in the world.
Held last week for the second time in Barcelona, the meeting of professionals from the world of denim brought together 3,905 visitors, compared to 3,200 a year earlier in Paris. "Goal reached" for its French organiser.
