Westfield has announced plans to hold a two-day job fair to help new brands opening stores at its Shepherd's Bush extension fill up to 8,000 jobs.

The £600m development is scheduled to open to shoppers in March, with new tenants including John Lewis, Primark, Urban Revivo, Space NK and Bravissimo.

The project will add 740,000 sq ft of high-quality retail, residential and mixed-use space, making Westfield London the biggest shopping centre in Europe.

The job fair will take place at the centre on 30-31 January and is expected to fill up to 8,000 jobs from retailers including Adidas, Emperor, Primark and West Elm, as well as roles within the shopping centre itself.

Duncan Bower, director of development at Westfield, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming all who are interested in employment and training to our Westfield Job Show, where they can find out about the thousands of exciting opportunities available in retail, customer service and hospitality at Westfield London.

"As a wider Employment and Training Group, with Hammersmith & Fulham Council and together local colleges, we have done a great deal to help inform and prepare the local community for these jobs and now, with the launch of the expansion just over two months away, we encourage local residents to head along to the Job Show to apply.”

Westfield London has created over 12,000 jobs since its opening in 2008, including over 5,000 construction workers and 205 construction apprentices who have worked in the expansion.

The expansion project will bring the number of stores at the shopping destination to 450.
