The organisation, founded in 2004 by Anderson & Sheppard,  Dege & Skinner, Gieves & Hawkes, H. Huntsman & Sons and Henry Poole & Co, won the Outstanding Contribution to Mayfair Award at the annual event.

Savile Row Bespoke Association Director Su Thomas commented: “We are very proud to have received this award, which demonstrates the SRBA’s work in regenerating the craft of Bespoke Savile Row tailoring and attracting a new generation of young men and women to it through our apprentice scheme. This has transformed the Row for future generations, while maintaining its exceptionally high standards."

To protect Savile Row’s bespoke standards, all 22 members of the SRBA must have their garments constructed within a one hundred yard radius of Savile Row, and offer the customer a choice of at least 2000 cloths. And a master cutter oversees the work of every tailor employed by a member house.

In addition to SRBA, other winners at the 2017 Mayfair Awards included Chloé (Best New Retailer), Gucci (Best Fashion Boutique), Holland & Holland (Best Specialist Boutique) and Asprey (Best Homeware).
