The German arm of luxury brand Ralph Lauren has welcomed Martina Bovenkerk as its new boss. As head of Germany and senior vice president, she will also oversee all sales channels in Central and Eastern Europe, and drive growth in line with the brand’s EMEA strategy, the US upmarket clothing brand announced in a statement.

Bovenkerk has held senior roles at the company since 2011. She first joined Ralph Lauren as general merchandise manager e-commerce and was promoted to the position of senior director wholesale and e-commerce in 2016. A year later, she became vice president e-commerce for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and LATAM (Latin America) regions.

Over the last seven years, Bovenkerk has been credited with driving the online business and contributing to the doubling of sales, said Ralph Lauren.

The fashion company’s shares recently rose by almost 2%. Net income was approximately $109 million (€94.5m) at the end of June, while sales climbed 3.2% to $1.39 billion.
