Just a few weeks before Raf Simons’ first collection with Calvin Klein, Simons is continuing to make his mark on the label, unveiling today a brand new logo for the company.

The logo isn’t a far cry from the previous versions, but it is a move by the brand to show that although they have a flashy new creative director, Calvin Klein is sticking to its heritage.

In a social media post, the brand described the logo as “A return to the spirit of the original. An acknowledgment of the founder and foundations of the fashion house.”

The logo was created in partnership with art director Peter Saville, who rose to fame, working on album covers for the likes of Kanye West, Duran Duran, Wham!, and Joy Division in the past. In the fashion world, he's worked with Stella McCartney, Jil Sander, Yohji Yamamoto, and Christian Dior. Saville has aided Simons on the Fall/Winter 2003 collection for Simons’ eponymous ready-to-wear line.

In another effort to bring Calvin Klein to modern times and move Calvin Klein away from the underwear and denim market, Simons introduced Calvin Klein’s first made-to-measure custom clothing and accessories service, announced earlier this month and anticipated to launch on April 1st, 2017.
