After Vetements decided to stage an exhibition instead of a catwalk show, Belgian label Maison Margiela too has confirmed it will not show its men's Spring/Summer 2018 collection at the Paris Fashion Week, scheduled from 21st to 25th June.

In the Fashion Week's provisional calendar, the Margiela show was initially scheduled for the morning of 23rd June. Instead, individual buyer presentations will be held at the luxury label's showroom, from 26th June to 23rd July.

Contacted by FashionNetwork.com, the label explained it wants to concentrate on its future shows, with a view to establishing a more coherent link between its three John Galliano-designed lines (couture, men's and women's). The decision was taken four months after the appointment of Riccardo Bellini as General Manager of the label owned by Italian fashion group OTB.

The Maison Margiela womenswear collection will show in Paris next September, while menswear is expected to return to the French capital’s catwalks in January 2018, a few weeks after the label's haute couture show.
