The Chinese textile trade show's 3,341 exhibitors, representing 25 countries, attracted 71,000 visitors from 15th to 17th March at Shanghai's International Exhibition and Convention Center. The figure is on par with that of March 2016.

The number of exhibitors instead grew by 5.9% in this edition, as the show set a new record for exhibitor numbers across the Intertextile, Yarn Expo, Chic and PH Value shows. The event was organised by German specialist Messe Frankfurt, in collaboration with the Chinese Textiles Chamber of Commerce (CCPIT-Tex) and the China Textile Information Center, and was remarkable for the amount of business it fostered.

"The number of new contracts generated here this week, as testified by several exhibitors, is the most satisfactory outcome for us, said Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager at Messe Frankfurt. In part we believe this is due to our efforts in the last few editions at improving the quality of buyers visiting the show, and at focusing on those areas which are most responsive to the expectations of the fastest-growing markets."

Once more the event was held alongside the Chic trade show, organised by the China National Garment Association. Chic hosted 1,213 exhibitors and reported the attendance of 108,164 buyers and visitors.

The next edition of this major Chinese textile fair is scheduled from 11th to 13th October, the venue once again being Shanghai's International Exhibition and Convention Center.
