At the same time, Intersport has confirmed the promotion of Martin Kempkes to the post of Chief Retail Officer. As far as the retail business is concerned, Kempkes will be replacing Werner Zill, Intersport's Chief Retail and Marketing Officer, who will be leaving in August after 24 years with the group.

Intersport generates a worldwide revenue of €11.1 billion through a network of 5,500 affiliated stores in 45 countries. The Athlete’s Foot, another retailer belonging to the group since 2012, generates €338 million in revenue via 500 stores in 26 countries.
