Eco Fashion Week (EFW) is no more.

Following 8 years and 12 editions, the fashion event dedicated to showcasing and promoting sustainable practices in the fashion industry, has canceled its 13th edition indefinitely.

Organizers of the Vancouver and Seattle-based non-profit event noted a lack of sufficient support, which made it increasingly hard to produce a sustainable event that its volunteers could properly organize.

“We hold our team, partners and EFW family in the highest regard, and we hold ourselves accountable for their wellbeing,” said EFW founder Myriam Laroche, in a news statement, “after all, as we fight for fair and sustainable business, we must start with our organization.”

The organization said it would reevaluate its structure and explore alternative methods to further impact the industry, at different capacities.

The event, founded in 2010, provided a platform for more than 160 sustainable designers from over 15 countries, 300 partnerships, 100 speakers, and 80 vendors across 11 seasons in Vancouver, and one season in Seattle. The event included speaker series, industry panels and runway presentations.
