Clarks Kids in Marvel link-up for Avengers collection

UK footwear chain Clarks has linked up with Disney-owned comic book and movie giant Marvel for a Clarks Kids collection “inspired by Marvel's mightiest heroes.”

The dual-gender collection is exclusive to the chain and launches on May 4. It has been created to coincide with the new Avengers: Infinity War movie. That movie has topped box offices worldwide at the weekend, breaking global all-time records as it received rave reviews and also tapped into the obsession with superheroes that’s currently driving box office receipts higher.

The company said the “collection captures the spirit of each hero while providing kids with liberated movement through comfort for everyday adventures.” It also comes with special edition shoeboxes featuring the superheroes.

Avengers: Infinity War’s success should help drive awareness of the collection but Clarks isn’t only relying on that and the new collection is accompanied by a campaign, called Greater Together, that “will strive to encourage kids to celebrate their strengths and abilities and to stand together as one; empowering them to be fearless, to believe in themselves, and always to support each other through strength in unity.”

Again, this echoes the approach of the Avengers who “all have very different and distinct identities [but] when they join forces, their strengths combine, and they become Earth's mightiest team of heroes.”
