Cédric Charlier has finally chosen Milan to unveil his brand-new men's line for Autumn/Winter 2017-18. "I always dreamed of creating a men's collection, and I am happy that it will premiere alongside my women's ready-to-wear line at the prestigious Milan Men's Fashion Week next January," he explained in a press release.

Geometric cuts and plenty of colour will be the collection's hallmarks. Special attention will be paid to materials in all of the collection's fifty or so items, including some unisex models, which complement Charlier's women's looks.

Before last summer, the Belgian designer had announced the launch of the men's line. He wanted to present it in New York, where he his women's collection in June, having previously staged his runway shows in Paris.

Cédric Charlier has now clearly changed strategy and opted for Italy, where the collections are produced and distributed under licence by Italian group Aeffe, with whose help Charlier launched his eponymous line in 2012. However, the designer has not ruled out the possibility of choosing other venues in future.

Charlier is the former Creative Director of Cacharel, and also worked for Lanvin and Céline. His label is expanding and it is now working with over 200 multi-brand clients.
